Today we talked to many people that work in the Dayton area to make our water clean. They taught us the steps they go through and what they do on an everyday basis to make our water system the best it possibly can.

By talking to these individuals I learned that something so simple that is put in the water can make a huge impact on many things including, ecosystem, aesthetics, and water quality. When someone throws their trash in a river it will effect all of these things in a very negative way. Now that I fully understand where water comes from I can connect that to living deliberately. When I go to a lake, river, or any body of water, I now will have a goal to keep the water clean and pick up anything harmful that I see. We also wrote a poem with our groups about rivers, which you can see below.
This is the river, vast and strong.
This is the rain, shiny and feeding into the river
These are the trees, tall, detailed, and lining the river.
These are the plants, small and green, rooted next to the trees.
These are the rocks, hard and smooth
This is the river, vast and strong.
